Brazilian Tapir Exhibit Open (male tapir)
We are proud to announce that the Brazilian Tapir Exhibit is now open! We have a male and female tapir. The male is a little larger and darker in color. The female is a reddish brown and smaller in stature. They are just starting to explore their new home!

Get Up Close & Personal with out Amazing Giraffes!
Giraffe Encounters are an amazing way to view, learn about and give a special treat to these wonderful animals. Encounters are WEEKENDS (SAT & SUN) ONLY and are on a first come, first serve basis. Giraffe encounters cannot be reserved and must be purchased at the main admissions entrance upon arrival. They are in limited supply and sell out quickly, so come early! Times are 11:30 am, 1:30 pm & 3:30 pm and cost $10.00 per person!
Hyena at Southwick's Zoo
We are proud to announce that Spotted Hyena have arrived at Southwick’s Zoo for the 2012 season. Hyenas are extremely intelligent animals with their cunning behavior, superior hunting/scavenging skills and vocalizations for communication….just to name a few. The new hyena exhibit is located right next to deer forest and the beautiful giraffe habitat. Stop by, watch for a while and learn about these amazing animals.
Come and meet our new Family! Two – toed sloths! Now on exhibit is a family of three who we are so excited about! They are located next to the chimpanzee habitat! Sloths are amazing creatures who do everything upside down!
