It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of one of our own. Linda S. Brewer, wife of Robert Brewer passed peacefully at home after a valiant and gracious battle with cancer. A resident of Mendon for the past 21 years, Linda was the Parrot Curator at Southwick’s Zoo (owned by the Brewer Famliy) in Mendon where she had established “Bird Talk”, an educational program enjoyed by the many visitors to the zoo. She had also hand raised the many exotic birds that are presently on display. She had knowledge and passion for exotic birds, enjoyed crafts, and was a member of the Daniels Farmstead Foundation and Earth Limited at Southwick’s Zoo.
Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Robert of 18 ½ years, she is survived her children Christina M. and her husband Brian Oppici , Cheri M. Rymsza and Aaron A. Goodin , 5 grandchildren Danielle, Nicolas, Sophia, Jacob, and Isabella, and many nieces and nephews.
Many of us remember Linda driving around in her “Parrot Wagon” sharing her love and excitement over the amazing birds at the zoo. She was also a driving force with the creation of Parakeet Landing, a walk through aviary and bird feeding station. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for anyone. We will truly miss her spirit and our thoughts are with the family at this time.

I am so sorry to hear about Linda’s passing , she was such a kind person with a wonderful spirit,I missed her last summer at the bird talk.My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
Thank you for your kind words, Ann.
