  • Vietnamese Pot Bellied Pigs are a popular breed of domestic pig. They are originally from South East Asia. This breed is smaller than American and European pigs, most likely because they were originally a jungle species.
  • Pot bellied pigs first arrived in the United States in the 1980s and quickly grew in popularity as pets. Pigs are intelligent and can be house and leashed trained and are able to learn simple tricks.
  • Despite their popularity as pets, they can be difficult to care for. Males may be pushy and have tusks that need to be trimmed. Pot bellied pigs can also easily reach unhealthy weights. They also need toys and activities to keep them from growing bored and unhappy.
  • Pot bellied pigs are a miniature breed of pig. They may weigh up to 100 lbs, but other types of pig may grow to weigh 1500 lbs.
