Giraffe Encounters run SAT and SUN only at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm and 3:30. Tickets are $10 per person and are available at the admissions Zoo Info Booth. It is a first come first serve basis and in limited supply. They cannot be reserved, so arrive at the zoo upon opening for the best chance for a giraffe encounter ticket!
The Skyfari is always a great way to see the zoo! We no longer rent electric scooters so the Skyfari is a great way to see a lot of animals in the most relaxing way! Here are some pictures taken from the Skyfari just the other day!

Southwick’s Zoo is Open for the season! We are very excited about this season, new exhibits, new kiddie ride, and so much more! It’s a great way to spend the day and have a “roarin’ good time”! Southwick’s Zoo, open daily 10 am – 5 pm, including holidays! Join us on facebook for the most up to date goings on at the zoo! I zoo….do you?

Hyena at Southwick's Zoo
We are proud to announce that Spotted Hyena have arrived at Southwick’s Zoo for the 2012 season. Hyenas are extremely intelligent animals with their cunning behavior, superior hunting/scavenging skills and vocalizations for communication….just to name a few. The new hyena exhibit is located right next to deer forest and the beautiful giraffe habitat. Stop by, watch for a while and learn about these amazing animals.
Dear Friends, with a heavy heart we are announcing the passing of our beloved rhinocerous Clyde. Clyde passed away last week of natural causes. Clyde lived far beyond his lifespan and was here at Southwick’s Zoo for over 40 years along with his mate Bonnie who passed 2 years ago. Bonnie and Clyde were named by Clarice Daniels Southwick all those years ago and were a favorite of all here at the zoo…. Clyde was a gentle giant who loved to get his back scratched. As soon as he heard the broom on the wall, he’d lumber over right away for a back scratch! Although we knew as the years went by that this was coming, we are all still saddened as Bonnie & Clyde were such a big part of the zoo, our lives, and the lives of our visitors. We’d especially like to thank Clyde’s zookeepers for their dedication and wonderful care, some who have shared his life for over 20 years and feel his loss.
Southwick’s Zoo would like to THANK Cindy Wilson, Kathy Morgan, Paul Wilson and all the Zoo Docents for their hard work & dedication while sharing their valuable time with Southwick’s Zoo. They have provided a great service for Zoo Education and to Southwick’s Zoo and we appreciate all they have done this year. Great Job Everyone and Thank You!

Come and meet our new Family! Two – toed sloths! Now on exhibit is a family of three who we are so excited about! They are located next to the chimpanzee habitat! Sloths are amazing creatures who do everything upside down!
